Klong Muang Beach in Krabi. Klong Muang Beach is located about 15 kilometers outside of Ao Nang. The village of Klong Muang is expanding continually, but is currently much more quiet than Ao Nang. Therefore, the beach is less visited and you can find some nice quiet spots in the shadow under the trees.
There are a few high-class accommodations at the beach like the Dusit Thani. This is the hotel that the lobby scene was filmed in for the movie Hangover 2. It had a different owner and name at the time but is the same location. The main section of the beach has nice fine sand and is great for swimming. A good idea is to ride from Ao Nang to this beach for a day trip by motorcycle if you want to get away from the crowds.
