This temple was used as the execution ground for Prince Kraisorn, who started a rebellion against King Rama III. He was executed by beating with a sandalwood club to the back of the neck on a stone. This was the method execution for royal family members according to ancient traditions. This stone is still preserved in the temple. The khlong (canal) in front of the temple is also holy site as the ashes of cremated members of the royal family and the royal white elephants are scattered here.
