History of Wat Khun Chan or the full name is Wat Waramatyaphantsarahara.
It is a temple in the area of Talat Phlu area of Thonburi. The temple has a very distinctive style. The art, architecture, statues and various designs are beautiful and unique.
There is also a very long history to the temple as well. This temple is considered an old temple located on the Thonburi side of the Chaophraya River in the Talat Phlu area. It was built almost 200 years ago. Built around the year B.E. 2370-2380 (in the Buddhist calendar) during the reign of King Rama 3, it is about 195 years old.
The temple was named "Wat Khun Chan" the builder of this temple won helped win the war with Vientiane. During the reign of King Rama V, it was renovated and given the royal name "Wat Waramatayabhatsadararam"
