Kegon Falls is a famous waterfall located in Nikko National Park, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. It is the only exit for the waters of Lake Chuzenji and is ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful falls.
The falls were formed when the Daiya River was rerouted by lava flows. The main falls have a height of approximately 97 meters, and about twelve smaller waterfalls are situated behind and to the sides of Kegon Falls, leaking through the many cracks between the mountain and the lava flows.
These falls are accessed easily by bus from the Nikko train station. It is well worth a visit in this amazing part of Japan.
