Wat Saman Rattanaram

Wat Saman Rattanaram is located on the Bang Pakong River in Chachoengsao Province.

There is a story that has been passed down from generation to generation regarding the history of the temple. There was a wealthy and respected family that lived in the area. The head of the family was a man known as Khun Saman Chinpracha (formerly Jai). He had 2 wives at the time of his death.

When Khun Saman Chinpracha passed away, the two wives of Khun Saman Chinpracha along with Mrs. Yishun Wiriyapanich built the temple in order to dedicate the merit to the deceased husband.

The temple was named "Wat Mai Khun Saman Perm Nakhon", bringing the name of Khun Saman Chinpracha. and a wife's maiden name. The temple was also known as Wat Rat.

The villagers usually call this temple "Wat Mai Khun Saman" now.

Wat Saman is located near the Bang Pakong Dam. Inside is the enshrined of the largest reclining Ganesha Buddha image in Thailand that most people come to worship. There is also a museum inside the ...

The Phimai Light and Sound Show is a captivating highlight of the annual Phimai Festival, transforming the ancient Khmer ruins of Phimai Historical Park into a living tableau of Thailand’s Khmer heritage.

Held in the heart of Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province (Isaan region), the show uses state-of-the-art projections, lasers, music, and narration to vividly recreate the history of the Khmer Empire, focusing on the era of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1220).

The park itself, centered around Prasat Hin Phimai—the largest and most intact Khmer temple in Thailand—serves as the dramatic backdrop, with lights illuminating its towering sandstone prangs (towers) and intricate lintels, evoking the grandeur of Angkor Wat’s northern outpost.
