Koh Kham is a small island that is open to visitors from nearby Koh Mak. It has an amazing white sand beach dotted with black volcanic rocks that form some interesting patterns at the waters edge. The beach is one of the best you will find anywhere and inspired the development of a 6 star luxury resort, Ananya Hideaway.
In 2014 the resort was raided by government officials causing construction to stop. It was deemed to be an illegal construction and this super exclusive resort now sits at about 80% completed.
If you come to the island you can walk through the rooms and see the state that it’s been in since 2014. The rooms have the glass doors, electrical wiring and the infinity pools installed. The jungle has started to reclaim this property but there is a small staff that still tends to the beach and cuts back the hedges.
