The Roman Agora Ρωμαϊκή Αγορά is located to the north of the Acropolis and to the east of the Ancient Agora in Athens Greece.
The Roman Agora was built around 100 metres east of the original agora by Eucles of Marathon between 27 BC and 17 BC (or possibly in 10 BC), using funds donated by Augustus, in fulfilment of a promise originally made by Julius Caesar in 51 BC. The Roman Agora has not today been fully excavated, but is known to have been an open space surrounded by a peristyle.
An inscription records the existence of an Agoranomion (an office for market officials).
The site is pretty small and has an entrance fee to see it. It is part of the multiple temple package that can be purchased at the Acropolis ticket booth for 30 Euros. It has a few interesting things to see and worth a bit of time exploring.

This highly revered Buddha statue is called Luang Pho Tho หลวงพ่อโต by Thais, and Sam Pao Kong ซำเปากง by Thai-Chinese. The statue is regarded as a guardian for mariners. Allegedly, prior to the destruction of Ayutthaya by the Burmese in 1767, "tears flowed from the sacred eyes ...
