Jantar Mantar is located in the modern city of New Delhi. "Jantar Mantar" means "instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens". It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The site is one of five built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1723 onwards, revising the calendar and astronomical tables.
Jai Singh, born in 1688 into a royal Rajput family that ruled the regional kingdom, was born into an era of education that maintained a keen interest in astronomy. There is a plaque fixed on one of the structures in the Jantar Mantar observatory in New Delhi that was placed there in 1910 mistakenly dating the construction of the complex to the year 1710. Shi-Da Night Market 師大夜市
Located in one of the most trendy neighborhoods in Taipei, Shi-Da Night Market is in a university area. After some rezoning efforts by the city government, the market is now more compact and quaint, rather than busy and seemingly endless.
This area of the city, together with neighboring Gongguan, is well known for its alternative and trendy style, housing several rock bars, cafés, and restaurants around the area.

Several years ago neighbors were becoming concerned with the market's rapid expansion and the noise associated with the market's unending growth. The city government began to enforce proper licensing and regulation, and many of the vendors left. Many of the unlicensed pushcart ...

After the battle, the Dutch rebuilt a fort in the original site in 1644 and renamed it in Dutch: Fort Antonio, after Antonio van Diemen, the then Governor-General of the Dutch East India Company (VOC).
In 1724, the Qing Government repaired the fort, and built a perimeter wall with four gates. From 1868 onwards the fort was leased to the British government as its consulate, and a new ...
